Tanbur For Kids

The Iranian tanbur, which originates from Iran’s Kurdish peoples, is a string instrument. It has a narrow, pear-shaped hollow wooden resonator and a long neck. A few small sound holes create a pattern on the front of the instrument. These decorative holes are one of the reasons behind the tanbur’s distinctive and resonant sound. The performer strums the instrument’s strings using their right index, middle, and ring fingers.
