General FAQ


The earlier you introduce art into your child’s life, the more long-term benefits they will experience. We have group classes for children as young as 2, where you’re welcome to join them. Usually, we recommend starting private lessons between ages 5 and 9. However, much of this decision depends on your child’s interests and the lesson type. Please give us a call or fill out our Information Request form and we’d be happy to discuss.

At the moment, we’re using Zoom, which you can access at no additional cost. All you need to connect is:

  • A computer
  • An Internet connection fast enough to support video streaming
  • Speakers and a microphone—your computer’s built-in work
  • A webcam–your computer’s built-in works

Once you’ve registered for an online class, we will send you an email link that you can use to connect to the teacher. Clicking the link will download Zoom to your device. And all you have to do after that is log in and wait for the instructor to let you in to the lesson.
We take privacy and security seriously. So all virtual classrooms are password-protected and only people with the link can access them.

Young children have a shorter attention span. So we recommend beginners ages 2–5 start with 30-minute private lessons or 45-minute group lessons. Older beginners ages 5–15 can start with 45–60 minute private lessons or 60–90 minute group lessons. Please note, these are general guidelines and your child’s specific needs might make a difference. Whether you’re interested in visual arts or music, we’re confident your child will love their lessons. In fact, we’re so sure of it that we offer a free 15-minute first lesson once you register. Yes, we charge a one-time $30 + GST registration fee. But if you register during our promotional early registration periods, this fee will be waived.

You must pay at the time of registration. We cannot hold your spot in a class if you haven’t paid.

Yes. If you select this option, there will be an extra charge of $30 + GST each month.

Our goal is to give your children the best possible art experience. But we understand if sometimes things don’t work out the way we planned. If you’d like to transfer your child to a different class or teacher, we can accommodate that. The first transfer is free. We will charge a $25 fee for further transfers. Please call us and we’ll do our best to help you.

We ask that you give us at least 48 hours’ notice if your child is going to miss a class. If the cancellation is due to illness, the class will be rescheduled at the teacher’s discretion.

All of our regular courses have a minimum of eight lessons. You may register for a separate trial lesson first. There is no set number for our camps and workshops.

You will be able to select your class and teacher if you have a preference. But if you have questions or aren’t sure, we’d be happy to talk about it with you. Give us a call or fill out our Information Request form and we’ll be in touch.

There is no need to worry. We teach children of all energy levels and abilities. Your child will slowly open up as they spend more time immersed in art with other students. Our aim is to make everyone feel included and enhance their self-confidence through art.

Yes. Please pack a healthy, nut-free snack and water for your child. Due to COVID-19 concerns, we cannot provide snacks or drinks at this time.
